Obesity Myths
The advanced technology continues every day to increase sharing the information, events and news at the same time worldwide as it happens these days on websites. Unfortunately, this rapid spread of information has drawbacks, especially in the case of misinformation which has no credibility, but it is spreading strongly and unfortunately many believe it.
Among these rumors, which spread a lot of information about obesity, nutrition and physical activity, which include:
Myth 1: Losing weight by reducing the number of meals:
It is common that reducing the number of meals is the solution to weight loss, but the body is very smart. While reducing the number of meals needed, the body feels that it is in hunger mode and stores food and does not burn it. Consequently, the rate of fat burning decreases, and the storage rate increases as well as the weight increases significantly.
Myth 2: Weight loss via sports only:
Exercise is essential and very beneficial to the body because it increases the burn rate, but this only happens when you eat a healthy and beneficial food. Because it is necessary to reduce the amount of excess calories needed by the body to prevent fat storage.
Myth 3: Overweight is a sign of good health:
Unfortunately, some people believe that being overweight is an evidence of good health, but it is completely false information. Because excess weight from unhealthy eating means the accumulation of unhealthy fat in the body and the result of many diseases.
Myth 4: Weightlifting does not help weight loss:
Many believe that exercising and lifting heavy weights only increases weight and muscle, especially for women. However, this information is incomplete as exercise and heavy weights actually mean increasing muscles that increase the burn rate and also help to continue burning 24 hours after exercise and then lose the excess fat.
Muscles also do not mean that the women's female shape is missed because no matter how heavy the weights are women's muscles differ in shape from men's one.
Myth 5: Losing weight by reducing the amount of eating of any kind:
Some believe that weight loss can occur by reducing the amount of eating of any kind like potatoes or similar foods that contain carbohydrates, proteins or fruits can only be reduced or prevented altogether.
But certainly these are misconceptions because the body needs a lot of protein to build the muscles and also it needs vegetables and fruits to get minerals and vitamins important to improve the body's functions and thus increase the burn rate. Therefore, the diversification of food is very important with adjustment for quantities and types of food needed by the body.
